Sometimes I wish I was a man

Every now and again I wish I was a man – not all the time as I like fashion and make-up too much but there are times when it must be easier to be a man. Running is one example, I’m sure men find it easier to run for longer distances. It has taken me almost 4 months to get to running 4km in one go and with a 5K race looming on Sunday that might be my limit in long distance running. I’m sure my running is actually more like jogging as well, while there are men running past me who don’t even look like they have built up a sweat. There are also times when I wish I could get ready a lot quicker then my usual hour – no hair to style, no lengthy beauty programme to bother about, no worrying about what to wear and high heels that kill your feet. Most men can get ready in about 10 minutes. The other bonus for men is going to toilet were ever they like which is handy for festivals and camping holidays. And there are never any queues at the mens toilet unlike the ladies, which wherever you go there is always a massive queue and it normally only has two toilets but ten sinks!

The main reason for this post is the fact that I can’t go to the pub on my own – men can! I have to walk past a really good pub every night on the way home and normally there are quite a few people outside having a drink or two and I have no one to go with. If I did go on my own I would look like something out of a soap opera and have to take up smoking forty fags a day while reading The Sun! One day there will be more of us in the office, maybe someone younger who likes to go out after work. Not that I want to go out every night but a couple on a Friday night would be nice. Thinking back to being a man, if I was I would be a very camp one with nice clothes and spending a small fortune on hair products.

Hey, it’s not all its cracked up to be. Sometimes I think women have it easier. Both have their own share of difficulties I guess, but you’ve just got to make do with what you have.

Thanks for the comment, at least I’m not the only one who thinks this and yes, I agree with you that you have to make do with what you have.

I sometimes wish I could try it. Just for a week. Maybe it’s because I’m very hetro, but I don’t like the way I look as a woman. I mean I don’t think I’m ugly in comparison and I have a pretty good body on the whole. But sometimes I would love to be a bloke with a sexy chest and short scruffy hair. I’d just feel so cool. Plus I wouldn’t have to look perfect to get the ladies, coz I know the right things to say. Not that I’d be able to sleep with any women…yeah I’d probably have to be gay.
